Details

Join therapist and ADHD Coach Bethany McLaughlin, LCSW, for an insightful and empowering program on self-compassion for adults living with ADHD. Research shows that adults with ADHD score significantly lower on measures of self-compassion compared to those without ADHD. The need for adult-focused ADHD support has become increasingly evident, especially in light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lived experience of ADHD. A study published in JAMA Network Open found a 33% increase in the rate of adult ADHD diagnoses during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic compared to pre-pandemic years. This event will explore strategies tailored for adults to cultivate self-compassion while managing ADHD symptoms, introduce exercises to enhance both self-compassion and executive functioning skills, and provide a forum for questions and shared experiences. Whether you're an adult personally affected by ADHD or supporting an adult loved one with ADHD, this program will offer valuable tools for fostering a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself and others in our current, often challenging times.
